Shelter is a registered charity that campaigns to end homelessness and bad housing in England and Scotland. It works in partnership with Shelter Cymru in Wales and the Housing Rights Service in Northern Ireland.

Shelter is the UK’s biggest housing and homelessness charity giving advice and advocacy to people in housing need.

The charity provides information on homelessness, renting and leasing houses, repossession, repairs, neighbourhood issues, eviction and finding and paying for a home but does not provide accommodation.

The charity tackles the root causes of bad housing by fighting for better investment in housing and by lobbying government and local authorities for new laws and policies to improve the lives of homeless and badly housed people.
