WIDOWS PARENT ALLOWANCE HAS BEEN REPLACED BY BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT PAYMENT.
If you’re a parent and your spouse or civil partner died on or after 6 April 2017 you may be eligible for Bereavement Support Payment instead.
However if your husband, wife or civil partner has died before 6 April 2017 you may still be eligible for Widows Parent Alowance.

In order to claim Widowed Parent’s Allowance, fill in the form that you can download at this link
Alternatively, you can telephone Jobcentre Plus.
Widowed Parent’s Allowance can be backdated for up to three months – it does not matter why the claim is late.

Widowed Parent’s Allowance counts towards the Benefit Cap. If you’re affected, your Housing Benefit will go down to make sure that the total amount of benefit you get isn’t more than the cap level.
