The Government has introduced a package of support to help households with the rising cost of living.

On May 26th 2022 the chancellor Rishi Sunak announced that the government will provide over £15 support, targeted particularly on those with the greatest need. This package together with the over £22 billion announced previously brings government support for the cost of living to over £37 billion this year.

Almost all of the eight million most vulnerable households will get £1,200 of one-off support in total this year to help with the cost of living, and all domestic electricity customers will receive at least £400.

Full details of the support available and how it will be paid is available from GOV.UK.
