From 1st January 2021, the free movement of people and goods & services between the UK and the EU came to an end.
The UK voted to leave the EU on 23rd June 2016 however both sides agreed to a transition period keeping many things the same until 31st December 2020, allowing enough time to agree to the terms of a new trade deal
A deal was finally agreed on 24th December 2020 and there are new rules in place for how the UK and EU live, work, trade and travel together.
