There is so much information available on the internet that it can often be a tedious and time consuming activity to search through the mass of advice that is available in order to find the information you need. Even government websites that have been set up to provide help can be difficult to find your way around.

My Advice Gateway has been built to help you find the information you need quickly and effectively. Links will take you to authoritative advice or the precise application form you need.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine

The Government has authorised the use of both the Pfizer/BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine and the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine as recommended by the independent Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) 

The vaccines have been tested and approved as safe and effective giving you the best protection against coronavirus.

More information is available from nhs.uk.

The vaccine is currently being offered by the NHS to people most at risk from coronavirus.

These include :

  • Certain people aged 80 and over who have an impending hospital appointment
  • People living or working in care homes
  • High risk health care workers

The vaccine will then be rolled out at other locations, as soon as possible in accordance with the priority groups set out by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).

Priority groups for COVID-19 vaccination

  • Residents in a care home for older adults and their carers
  • 80 years of age and over; frontline health and social care workers
  • 75 years of age and over
  • 70 years of age and over; clinically extremely vulnerable individuals
  • 65 years of age and over
  • 16 years to 64 years with underlying health conditions
  • 60 years of age and over
  • 55 years of age and over
  • 50 years of age and over
